EY celebrated the launch of its UK legal practice last Thursday at London’s National Gallery. EY’s UK Chairman and Managing Partner, Steve Varley, welcomed guests, who had the opportunity to enjoy the grand surroundings while discussing the team’s growth plans.
The event came less than a year after EY was granted an Alternative Business Structure license by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, enabling the firm to provide legal services in England and Wales. Now with a 30-strong team in place, UK and Ireland Law Leader, Philip Goodstone, is expecting to double the headcount over the next 12 months.
The growth of the UK business continues EY’s trajectory for expansion of its global Law practice, with 1,500 practitioners already in place across 67 countries, trebling geographical reach since 2009.
